UK born Lizzie Ball is an acclaimed violinist, vocalist and creative producer. Lizzie’s career has seen her enjoy a world class diverse range of experiences. Highlights include touring internationally for several years with Nigel Kennedy as soloist and Concertmaster of his Orchestra of Life (including directing for him the ‘Palestine Prom’ for the BBC Proms 2013 in the Royal Albert Hall) and appeared with Brian Wilson and Jeff Beck as a featured solo artist as both a violinist and singer in US-wide tours which gave her rave reviews in every one of the 30 concerts they performed together, including a standout appearance as headliner for Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festival in Madison Square Garden. Her solo show (in which she performs as both violinist and vocalist) has seen standing ovations in concert halls and theatres around the world, with her fun, high energy uplifting approach to classics from the classical, jazz, folk, world and pop genres.

 

She was recently awarded an Honorary Masters Degree in November 2018 from The University of Derby, UK in recognition of her achievements in the field of music and her innovative and creative approach to classical music. She founded Classical Kicks Productions Ltd in 2012 where it enjoyed a 4 year sold-out residency at Londons world famous iconic jazz venue, Ronnie Scott’s, featuring a whole host of top notch classical musicians, string quartets, mixed with appearances from beatboxers, rappers, poets, jazz musicians and more. Classical Kicks also has its own children’s show, a show with DJ Rob da Bank combining electronic music with the CK Ensemble, and a festival that runs in Derbyshire twice yearly.

 

In December 2018, Lizzie was chosen as one of the top 50 females in the UK by the top UK newspaper The Daily Mail’s Top 50 women of 2018 list. She is Ambassador for the charity PRISMA, (founded by Morgan Szymanski) providing arts workshops to underdeveloped areas of Mexico. More recently she co-created (with Producer/Writer/Director) Emily Blacksell) ‘Corrido: A Ballad for the Brave’, an audio-visual odyssey telling the life story of Frida Kahlo and her female contemporaries, which premiered at London’s famous V and A Museum alongside their prestigious ‘Making her Self Up’ exhibition to wide acclaim. Lizzie is Derbyshire (northern England) born and bred, and read Music at St. Johns College, Cambridge, and took further studies at the Royal College of Music/Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She is endorsed by Strymon Pedals, AER Amplifiers, Kun Shoulder Rests, and Thomastik Strings. Lizzie was recently chosen to direct/lead the orchestra for the much anticipated ‘Hugh Jackman the Show’ UK/Europe tour this May 2019, starring Jackman performing the very best of his hits from Les Mis, Greatest Showman and more in a full scale arena production.
