Musician and entertainer Oli Nez began his musical journey at the age of ten with his first sax. After years of gigging around South Wales as a teenager, Oli headed to London at aged eighteen to study at London’s prestigious Trinity Music Conservatoire. During this period he also became a member of The National Youth Jazz Orchestra and was awarded a Ronnie Verrel award.
Oli has since performed in venues from all sizes, from Ronnie Scott’s to the Royal Festival Hall. In fact, he’s even played on every world continent after recently headlining on a luxury cruise liner in Antarctica! Oli has played to royalty, such as Prince William and Kate, and has warmed up crowds for opera singer Katherine Jenkins.
Oli’s first album “Open For Business” was produced by Grammy-nominated Julian Hepple and featured UK favourites such as virtuoso trombonist Dennis Rollins (who Oli has also performed as a sideman with), guitar great John Paricelli and BBC Radio 3 presenter and singer Emma Smith.
Oli’s latest release is titled Whispers Of Wales and took almost two years to produce: from conception to CD press. Recorded with an American male voice choir, the album is a fresh, new take on the Welsh male voice choir sound using only voices and saxophone.
Oli has been a featured soloist and support act for UK multi platinum vocal group G4 alongside Merrill Osmond, Leslie Garret and The City of Prague Philharmonic.
His two headline cruise shows focus on bringing a breath of fresh sea air to the world of cruise ship entertainment whilst still retaining the classic format of variety performance.
Oli plays all the saxophones as well as flute, clarinet and the ever head-turning Electronic Wind Instrument!
His shows feature show stopping tricks such as circular breathing and audience participation. The shows works with a trio all the way up to a ten piece show band!
A unique twist on music from Bizet to Bill Withers and Amadeus to Adele. His mix of music and laughter will surely be a highlight of many a passengers voyage, young and old!
