Stephen was born in Glasgow in 1983 and began playing the flute when he was 14 years old. He studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and on a scholarship at the Royal Northern College of Music. As one of only a handful of flute players to maintain an active solo career, Stephen has performed in over 30 countries around the globe. Stephen performs as guest principal flute with several orchestras internationally. In particular, he has close relationships with the Orchestra of Glyndebourne Opera and the Scottish Philharmonia.  Stephen currently holds Visiting Professor of flute positions at music academies in both Belfast, Northern Ireland and Kastella, Croatia.  In the popular music world he has collaborated extensively with several artists including Annie Lenox and Andrea Bocelli. He can also be heard on the soundtracks for several movie soundtracks  and tv series. His debut solo album "EXPLOSIVE" was released worldwide in late 2013. Stephen is an International Altus Artist and plays exclusively on a 14K Gold Altus flute.
